Mr. Sunil Limaye, an officer of the Indian Forest Service from the Maharashtra cadre, currently holds a position as a member of the esteemed Central Empowered Committee constituted by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.

He specialized in Wildlife management and, has held several significant positions such as Principal Chief Conservator of Forest-Wildlife, and Managing Director of the Maharashtra EcoTourism Development Board. Notably, he initiated the “Mumbaikars for SGNP” campaign, bringing together local communities, government officials, NGOs, and media to address the human-animal conflict around Sanjay Gandhi National Park, now known as “Living with the leopards”. Additionally, he has actively worked towards tribal welfare by establishing various livelihood programs promoting sustainable livelihoods.
